Muscat, February 12: ‘Kudla Cup – season 4' started with a big bang on January 31 and continued its plethora of entertainment through most popular and ever loved sport ‘cricket’ on February 6.

The ‘SYS team’ – Srikanth, Yuvaraj, Suraj of Kudla Friends- Muscat, went all-out with the continued systematic professional prior arrangements of the venue to undertake sporting event without a hitch - hatch!... Great cricketing fever in action was ensured.

















Day 2 of ‘Kudla Cup – Season 4’ - Cricket Tournament kicked off at 7.30 am on this beautiful pleasant Friday February 6 morning, on the lush green Ghubrah Grounds. Though it was yet another relaxed weekend autumn morning, the teams buckled and geared up for yet another face off quarterfinals in men’s category and knockout matches in women’s category, proved the serious sportsmanship to fight out for the championship.

The day started with the men’s quarterfinals.

1. Billawas
2. Muscat Mogaveers
3. Vishwakarma
4. Bunts Oman

Results of Day 2 of Cricket Tournament in Men’s Category:

Following teams marched on to semi-finals

1. Billawas won against Vishwakarma and entered in to the semi final.
2. Muscat Mogaveers won against Bunts Oman and entered in to the semi final.

The other two teams entered semifinals were Brahmins and Konkanas, played against Padmashali and Kudla Muslim on the Day 1 – cricket tournament held on January 31.

Men’s cricket tournament - semi-finals face off with great knocks, hits and runs adding the catches as well, that accumulated entitling the teams for finals were:
Billawas, and Muscat Mogaveers.

Semi final matches for cricket (men)

1. Billawas won against Brahmins. 
2. Muscat Mogaveers won against Konkan's XI.

Finalists team Billawas and team Muscat Mogaveeras… battled out and what a final it was , bringing the entire packed crowd into a frenzy where Muscat Mogaveers clinched the champion’s trophy at ‘Kudla Cup- Season 4’, in cricket - mens’ category winning over Billawas by 2 runs.

Segment 2 on the Day 2 – Kudla Cup ‘Season 4’, was unbeatable women’s cricket tournament witnessed at the inter-community sports being held in the region, and 4 teams reported electrified spirit and professional approach. The teams reported were:
1. Bunts Oman
2. MCCP OMAN
3. Muscat Mogaveers
4. Vishwakarma

With a nail biting finish, Bunts Oman ladies defeated the Season 3 champions- MCCPOMAN women.

Muscat Mogaveers ladies also bowled out Vishwakarma entering into finals to take on with the ladies of Bunts Oman.

Bunts Oman women were the champions of Kudla Cup Season 4, with a thrilling 9 wickets win over Muscat Mogaveers.

The final match played by the ladies was a treat to watch as some superlative shots, and catches were witnessed. The mid noon sun did not exhaust these ladies at all, as the inner spirit to kiss the champions trophy of ‘Kudla Cup Season 4’ come what may!, was the only intention.

The overall management and execution of matches uncompromisingly perfect, were formatted and executed by Srikanth, Yuvaraj & Suraj.

The summer’s warmth is slowly reducing and heat is steadily catching up… yet this is certainly not plummeting the spirit of enjoying the ‘Kudla Cup-4’ that has attracted many, to enjoy the togetherness of Kudlites in this season of the year.

Kudlites, come let’s gather in big number next Thursday February 12 and Friday February 13 at Muscat Sports Club, Wadikabir, and make it a memorable one.

Thursday February 12, 8.00 pm – throwball and volleyball
Friday February 13, 9.00 am – throwball, volleyball and tug-of-war
