Bengaluru: Has BJP's Delhi debacle pleased party's state leaders?

Bengaluru, Feb 12: BJP has suffered a humiliating defeat at the hands of AAP in Delhi in the just-concluded Delhi Assembly elections, but if you thought BJP leaders in the state are disappointed about their party's performance, you are wrong. If reports are to be believed, there is a lot more than what meets the eye, and though state BJP leaders may have shown some consternation on the outside, there is said to be a feeling of sadistic joy within.

As per some media reports, the state BJP leaders were vexed with the national leadership led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and BJP president Amit Shah. It is learnt that the BJP high command in Delhi was actually controlling the BJP leaders in the state without giving much importance to their opinions and desires. The leaders in the state had not liked such attitude. Hence, some leaders in the state are said to be secretly happy with the party's debacle and have even expressed so to each other. No one, however, has dared to acknowlege this publicly.

The result has shown that the actions by the leaders in Delhi may not always be correct. It is not just in Karnataka, but in other states too, where party leaders had no choice but to toe the line.

During one of his visits to the state, Amit Shah had indicated that more opportunities would be given to youngsters in the party. This had angered senior leaders in the state, but the BJP's stunning victory in the Lok Sabha elections helped tide over things and the matter never gained much importance. As Modi-Shah juggernaut continued sweeping other states, anxiety over being sidelined deepened further in Karnataka.

However, the loss in Delhi seems to have rekindled hopes in the state leaders of finally being noticed. The momentum with which the party was surging ahead seems to have slowed down, and BJP leaders in the state hope that their opinions would be valued, their concerns addressed and their feelings understood. They hope that the central leadership would have learnt a valuable lesson from the Delhi debacle, that local leaders need to be given importance if the party has to prosper.

Even if Modi and Amit Shah fail to see this view, the state leaders feel that the defeat in Delhi has boosted their own importance in the party, which in turn has been the cause for the alleged secret joy.

At one time, the party was an amalgamation of leaders from various states, and its foothold in different states was built brick-by-brick. But ever since the Lok Sabha elections, BJP has become all about central leadership alone, feel the state leaders.

Contradicting its own tradition of announcing BJP chief ministerial candidates before the Assembly elections, the party chose to fight the elections in Maharashtra and Haryana without CM candidates, and instead rode high on its popularity and the Modi wave. This is something that its leaders could not digest, and hence the Delhi results have given reason for some of the party leaders to smirk.

Nidderamiahhh has to rethink his strategy,, either hop to another party or refrain from gimmicks like 'Tippu Jayanti', free treatment to Ambarish from tax payers money. The earlier the likes of Nidde, Ullal Sultan, Golibaje Janna are booted the better it is !!

MODI AND AMIT SHAH ARE RIGHT TO SEE SENIOR LEADERS ARE GOOD FOR NOTHING WHO HAVE OPPOSED BSY AS CM OF STATE AND ALLOWED CONGRESS TO RULE.
IF BJP LOST IN DELHI IT IS BECAUSE OF CONGRESS WHICH HAS NOT AT ALL GIVEN REAL FIGHT IN TRIANGLE SERIES AND IF IT ALLOWS THE AAP TO GROW AND JOIN WITH BJP, AAP WILL KEEP CONGRESS OUT AS IT HAPPENED IN DELHI WITH ZERO REPRESENTATION.
BJP IS 100% MP'S WHEN COMPARED TO AAP 96% MLA'S.
IF BJP HAS BEEN GIVEN MAJORITY IN DELHI IT COULD HAVE BEEN A CURSE BECAUSE VOTERS HIGH EXPECTATIONS AS PROMISED BY AAP AND COULD HAVE LOST ITS CREDIBILITY IN THE LONG RUN. LUCKILY AAP IS THERE TO BEAR THE BURNT. THIS IS ONLY A TEMPORARY SETBACK TO BJP AND NEED NOT BE WORRIED FOR THE LOSS IF SOMEBODY INSIDE BJP IS PLEASED HE IS FOOL.

Perfect time to throw away all such dissatisfied sects in karnataka Bjp. There is nothing more to loose here. Indian politics is all set to reform now. Old horses will not be able to survive anymore. Whoever in Bjp is not happy with Modi and shah, jump the ship.let them start their own party or join congress or jds. Only who is ready to change with the time will survive in politics anymore.

Whether the BJP debacle in Delhi has pleased Karnataka BJP or not, but surely it has pleased RSS bosses of Karnataka including some Swamijis, because Modi & Group was not giving much importance to RSS and Swamijis of KTK.

Removal of Sadananda Gowda from Railway ministry in a very insulting manner and giving him unimportant Law Ministry itself was enough to show that how badly Kannadigas are treated by Gujju gang at the Center. Even then still we have many shameless Kannadigas in our State who still sing the Bhajans of Modi.

LOL.. this is real acche din! rejoicing even in defeat.. all these bad ass netas are good for nothing.. cant even speak hindi/english and open their mouth in delhi! hence they get belted...
every state has its own strategy, to portray someone CM before election- keeping caste/vote bank/popularity etc in mind ... BJP is doing it perfectly well!... they dont have a congress culture of sending envelope with names- all MLAs sit and decide!...

In Karnataka barring few like Ramakrishna Hegde, SMKrishna, (and Yeddy once) , No other candidate has charishma to be CM and use it as campaign face!
Karnataka BJP leaders are doing a favor, by misbehaving. its easier to kickout frustrated guys! It is not during winning, but how you behave during LOSING decides who is your friend!- Morons will never get it..vhe vhe vhe

There should be check and balance in systems and MITH SHA-MODI duos.As I said earlier Modi is an dictator. He successfully controlled his own men in Guj but controlling different state's BJP leaders are to be Herculean task.India never went with dictator style of function of any leader or Govt except in brief period where emergency was in force.State BJP leaders are decimated by Modi were
    A)BSY
    1)Anathu,
    2)DVS
    3)ISH
    4)Shettar......
so far had no voice and it will continue further because all named are more corrupt than Congress THUNDU leaders.Even Vaju Bhai vala,Guv,Karnataka State did not entertain these politicians in ARKAVATHI ISSUE.

Till Modi is in the helm no leader/leaders could go against Modi and these rejoices is short termed.

yeddy, sriramulu and reddy brothers are more than enough in karnataka coupled with huge anti incumbency of current congress govt to take the bjp into a simple majority.

if any youngster is choosen for cm candidate instead of yeddy then bjp position will be same as in delhi.

so it has come as a blessing in disguise for karnataka bjp.
even though karnataka looks as a very forward modern state, caste factor plays a very important role here like in up and bihar.
