Unhappy at transfer, HC judge sheds tears at farewell function

Daijiworld Media Network - Bengaluru (SP)

Bengaluru, Feb 14: At the farewell function organized here, high court judge, Justice Huluwadi G Ramesh, who has been transferred to Allahabad high court, accused some people in powerful positions of ensuring his transfer through their connections. With choking voice and tears rolling down his eyes,Justice Ramesh said that certain people had a grouse against him because of people-friendly orders issued by him.

'I know who have worked behind the scenes for my transfer. But I prefer not to reveal their names. I have served as per the Indian Constitution. My transfer has come as a shock to me and pained me. I find it hard to leave Karnataka and my friends. I assure you that in Allahabad too I will continue to work as per the constitution and work with people-centric mind,' he added.

Advocates Association Bangalore had organized farewell function for him on Friday February 13. 'People should have the ability to discern the work they perform. Many forget to work after becoming ministers. In such cases, courts are compelled to issue orders without fear or favour. Some people face awkward situations under such circumstances, and to wriggle out of this situation and to serve their own selfish interests, people in high offices in the government have recommended for my transfer,' he said.

He recalled that because of his stay order for six months against the government's decision to acquire farmers land at the rate of Rs 2 lacs per acre in 2006, the farmers could get a price of Rs 30 lacs per acre. After this, he said, many orders issued by him were in the interests of the common people. He resented the fact that his initiative to serve the citizens had worked against his own interests.

Interference in Judiciary is a crime and knowing who has interfered and not revealing is a greater crime. These days everyone claims that they know about the irregularities and crimes but say that names will be revealed at an "appropriate time". Mr. Kumaraswamy, Mr. Ashok Kheny have given the same statements in the past. I request everybody to reveal what information they possess especially Mr. Justice Hulavadi Ramesh should immediately reveal the names and legal action should be initiated against those "powerful offenders".

Here the more honest and upright an officer the more the transfers and harassment:

Haryana IAS officer Pradeep Kasni, who has reportedly been transferred 60 times in 30 years for his uprightness!!

What about 'whistle blowers', who are not given protection, are in constant danger from the dangerous 'rogues' they have exposed!!

Only those who conform to the larger group's ethics thrive and have a lavish and trouble free life and the majority prefer to do so as the upright path is really really tough!! Jai Hind!!

Well said Sunder .we are such cowards. We justify any injustice, instead of fighting it out. Lesson can be learnt from any bad incidents or notorious outfits like bajrang dal. Why not copy them to protect honest persons like this judge.

Name the politicians and if you are finding out difficult, come out and serve the people in a different way. Honesty has no value in India which is full of corrupt and vested interests.

This is ridiculuous... If he is in Government job, he has opted for it, then he should be ready for transfer to any place, any time! Transfer doesnt mean you are not Honest! .... Kejriwal and his wife have been in IRS for close to 20 years and THEY HAVE NEVER BEEN TRANSFEERED OUT OF DELHI!! does that make them less honest and close to congress?? he was plain lucky, that is it!

Even the bishops, priests are never kept in a same parish for a long time... they are transferred to all the length and breadth of country from bareily, banara, alahabad to bengaluru, mangaluru!.. Doesn't mean they are less of honesty!...

ek accha judge jahan jaata hai, apna naam kamaata hai! .. You havent seen what transfers mean? look at Khemka, 43 trasnfers in 20 yrs, few as less as 40-50 days! vhe vhe vhe

if publically with such drama, tears, and innuendos, it will give bad impression of his career how fairness of judgements!

Every govt is job meant for transfer, some voluntary, some punishment and few routine (promotional & other cultural reasons)....! even teachers (though within the state), bank officials, police (within state), military everywhere!.. But IRS officers, generally are asked for their preference, so everyone opts for New Delhi and Mumbai , both large financial hubs, keeping "MOOLAH" in mind! doesnt mean there are no tax officials in rest of the state.... Problem with Kejri was he hardly went for his job, he leaves most of the thing unfinished! and will cry hoarse, if he is ever transerred!... his wife, had upper edge, because, generally ladies get prefertial treatment, while making transfers! he and his wife, know a lots of secrets about incomes of Delhi politician, and he was employed by Sonia Gandhi in her national advisory council... if you see the "freebie culture" it is all Sonia's blue print he is implementing.. :)

Sir, honest people always suffer. This is the price they have to pay for being honest and straight forward. Believe me, Allahabad court is known for many landmark judgement and I consider that it is an honor for you to be a judge of that court.

Emotions apart, I am sure you will be a true judge, no matter where you will go.

All the best Sir. May God bless you.

WE LIVE IN A WORLD Where finding faults in others seems to be the sport.ONE OF THE PENALTIES FOR REFUSING TO PARTICIPATE IN POLITICS IS THAT YOU END UP BEING GOVERNED BY YOUR INFERIORS. WHEN YOU JOIN A PROFESSION YOU KNOW YOURSELF THAT THERE IS A TRANSFER AND YOU SHOULD BE PREPARED TO ACCEPT THE SAME.WHEN YOU JOIN A ARMY YOU ARE AWARE THAT YOU MAY BE KILLED. IF YOU AGREE FOR THE SAME YOU JOIN THE PROFESSION. NO TEARS.
