Doha: Huge response for KMCA blood donation drive

Doha, February 14: Karnataka Muslim Cultural Association (KMCA) a registered body under Indian Cultural Center (ICC) hosted a blood donation drive today February 14 at Hamad Medical Corporation (HMC) blood donors unit.
















The response by the donors and the well-wishers unexpectedly turned to be huge numbers which started from 8 am and ended up at 12 pm. Around 350 people irrespective of caste and religion joined the noble cause which was a unique show organized by KMCA.

Around 80 members were successful in donating the blood in today’s blood donation drive after the routine checkups.

Dr Mukthar Ahmed hailing from Karnataka state addressed the gathering and highlighted the importance and benefits of donating blood. President of the forum Niyaz Ahmed welcomed the gathering. Saeed Assadi compered while Saquib Raza Khan proposed vote of thanks.

M Iqbal Manna, head of special needs of KMCA was the event co-ordinator.

Arvind Patil, president of ICBF, Divakar Poojary, general secretary, ICC, past presidents of Indian Cultural Center (ICC) K M Varghese and M I Farid, Deepak Shetty, president, Karnataka Sangha Qatar, M Ravi Shetty, president of Tulu Koota Qatar, Prakash Chandra Ajila, president, Bunts Qatar, Abdul Majeed, president, South Canara Muslim Welfare Association, Abdulla Mono, president, Hidaya Center, Ashmath Ali, president, KTWA, Milan Arun, former ICBF official, Syed Abdul Hye, senior resident of Qatar, Rehman T, former KMCA president, Ibrahim Byari, Abdul Qayyum, Abulla Khatri, Habibul Nabi, Arun Kumar, Dinesh Chandra Shetty, Sheethara Shetty, Sathish Tonse and several prominent Indian community members and other dignitaries attended this noble cause.

The KMCA managing committee also extended its thanks and appreciation to Niyaz Ahmed from HBK Contracting Company and the president of KMCA and also to Salim U, the managing director of Team Engineering Company for arranging their employees to join and donate blood for the noble cause.

    An annual noble event which receives huge round of applause from every corner of the community hosted by vibrant KMCA-Qatar has broken all previous records and raised the Indian flag high in the oil rich gulf country Qatar.
    I am delighted and grateful to our dynamic President Mr.Niyaz Ahmed, well supported by active team of EXCOM and fellow members for their enthusiasm, support and encouragement to make this noble activity a grand success. My special thanks to our beloved friend Mr. Alex for his continued support and encouragement. To all forum heads, prominent members from Indian expatriate community of Qatar and degnitories.
