Kundapur, Feb 15: The feast of St Anthony’s Relic at St Anthony's Shrine, Kerekatte, was celebrated with much fervour on Sunday February 15 amidst a large gathering of devotees.

Dr Gerald Isaac Lobo, bishop of Udupi diocese, offered the solemn mass.

In his homily, the bishop said, "By living the life of sacrifice, love, and selflessness, everyone can receive love and the grace of God. St Anthony’s life of sacrifice and values is an example for all of us.

"St Anthony began preaching at an early age and he had great devotion towards Mother Mary, He was popular as a miraculous saint. St Anthony was canonized the year after his death and thus inspired all the devotees," added Dr Lobo.

Kerekatte shrine director Fr Xavier Pinto, Kundapur parish priest Fr Anil D’Souza, and other priests from different parishes of Kundapur and Udupi diocese were co-celebrants.

The Bishop distributed candles and the sponsors were felicitated during the celebration of the Feast of St Anthony’s Relic.

Thousands of people of different denominations thronged the shrine and sought blessings, offering flowers and lighting candles.
