Mysuru: Frustrated at failure, Bengaluru student ends life

Mysuru, Feb 16: A girl student from Bengaluru, frustrated at her poor academic progress, killed herself in the city by consuming excessive dosage of sleeping pills. She breathed her last on Sunday February 15 morning.

The student has been identified as Poornima (17),daughter of Ravikumar from Indiranagar in Bengaluru. Lashkar station police here, who took up the case for investigation,said that Poornima had scored very less marks in the SSLC preparatory examination, as a result of which, her parents had taken her to task. Driven by a sense of frustration, she came to the city by a bus and consumed sleeping pills.

Poornima was found in in a precarious state at the suburban bus stand here on Saturday February 14 evening. She was admitted into a private hospital, where she passed away on Sunday morning. On the basis of address, mobile number etc found from her bag, her parents were contacted, the police said.
