Dubai: Gammath artistes enthrall audience with Tulu play ‘Eddeduppuga’

Dubai, Feb 16: ‘Gammath’ artistes Dubai presented Tulu social comedy drama ‘Eddeduppuga’ as their fourth year's presentation at Jumeira Emirates International School's Emirates Theater on Friday February 13.

The drama, enacted and directed by local artistes, has provided entertainment to the audience besides sending a good message.

The programme held prior to the drama was inaugurated by elite people after lighting the traditional lamp.



































































































































 

Pravin Shetty of Dubai Fortune Group of Hotels, Harish Sherigar of Akme Building Materials, Satish Venkataramana of Chilivili, Shekar Shetty of Arab Udupi Hotels, businesmmen Michael D' Souza, Harish Bangera, Premnath Shetty, Abu Dhabi Karnataka Sangha’s Sarvotham
Shetty, Sunil Shetty, Gunasheela Shetty, Giridhar Shetty, Mohammed Sadik, Chetan, and Vishwanath Shetty of Gammath Kalavider Association, were present on the occasion.

A cheque for Rs 7,56,000 was handed over on behalf of Gammath Kalavider to Janardhana, head of ‘Spandana’, training center for the mentally disabled, Udupi. Meanwhile, businessman Michael D' Souza donated Rs 5 lac, Satish Venkataramana donated Rs 3 lac and Harish Bangera donated Rs 1 lac to Spandana.

Singers Harish Sherigar of Akme Building Materials, Akshatha Rao and Prasad Shetty sang film songs in their melodious voices and entertained the audience. Rajesh Kuthar compered the programme.

The drama has been written by Krishna G Manjeshwara. It was directed by Vishwanatha Shetty of Gammath Kalavider and Vishwanatha Shetty Nelyadi has provided music.

    Drama was good, excellent performance by all actors, Vishwanath shetty did good job in directing and acting together, impressed by superb acting of kudi.
    We were not expecting much as some seniors actors were missing, but the present actors who replaced, did a fantastic job in filling the gap and we enjoyed the drama overall.

    Excellent initiative taken up by Gammath Kalavider by being a helping hand to ‘Spandana’.

    Agree with the comments below , Marvelous Performance by every actor. Special mention to Chitra Shetty and Hats off to the actor who played the role of Bhaskar , Girish Kumar , one actor with many versatile acting skills of being a comedian as well as getting us all emotional.

    Kudos to organisers, Splendid performance!! All the actors were equally good in their respective roles, while i was laughing hard at the comedy, i was also in tears at the emotional performance by Bhaskar (comedian). Good job Girish. All the best to the team.
