Mangaluru, Feb 15: As the first of many planned institutions, Shrividya Education Foundation launched its pre-university college 'Pana Pre-Uni' under the banner of Pana Education, at an event held at hotel Moti Mahal here on Sunday February 15.

A J Shetty, chairman of A J Group of Institutions inaugurated the occasion by lighting the lamp. Dr M Shantharam Shetty, pro-chancellor of Nitte University unveiled the logo of Pana pre-university college. Dr M Mohan Alva, chairman of Alva's Educational Foundation launched the website, www.pana.global the new college.

A J Shetty while congratulating the trustees of Shrividya Education Foundation said, "It is really nice that this college has come up here in Mangaluru. Let this college grow tall. In the current scenario education is very important; without education nothing is possible. We have many good educational institutions here in Mangaluru and they have maintained their name.
"Pre-university is like a foundation in every student's life because its only after PUC the student can decide whether he or she wants to pursue engineering, medicine or commerce. I urge trustees of Pana College to give the best in education to the students. I wish more such colleges like this come up in Mangaluru," he said.

Dr Mohan Alva said, "As Dakshina Kannada is termed as a district of educated people, students from different parts come here to obtain education. There is a lot of confusion among students when it comes to educational institutions and government-run institutions. Let our educational system be free of all confusions. Let our vision be clear. Our honesty and sincere efforts will lead to success, let's work towards this. I wish all the best to Shrividya Foundation in its future endeavours."

Dr Shantharam Shetty said, "The sky is the limit - this should be our driving force every day of our lives. Foundation is very important and it starts from school, home and college. Let Pana College lay this foundation in students. Today we do not require more doctors, engineers or chartered accountants, we require good hearted people who can build the nation. We should dream and turn that dream into reality. I wish the institution all success."

Jeevan D'Souza, CEO of Shrividya Education Foundation proposed the vote of thanks.

CA Ram Mohan Rai and Dr Prasad Hegde, trustees of Shrividya Education Foundation and others were present at the event.

Prior to the inaugural ceremony, a talk on 'Art of parenting' was delivered by Dr Gururaj Karajagi, chairman of Academy for Creative Teaching, wherein he advised parents to encourage their children instead of comparing them with siblings or beating them, which he said would demotivate them.
