Bengaluru: Aero India: Red Bull stunt planes collide in mid-air, pilots safe

Bengaluru, Feb 19 (Agencies): Two Red Bull stunt aircraft Thursday collided in mid-air while performing at the Aero India defence expo here but the pilots, who were unharmed, managed to land safely, eyewitnesses said.

The aircraft were part of a three-plane formation and collided while attempting an inverted loop.

Both the planes were flying at a height of over 500 feet. The wing of one plane scraped against the head of the other plane.

The wingtips of both aircraft were damaged.

However, the pilots of both planes managed to land safely.

To Quote Modi "For me, this (Aero India) is not just a trade fair for defense equipment, but a platform to launch our defense manufacturing sector. A nation with a strong defense industry can not only be more secure, but also reap rich economic benefits".
What we saw was purely Coc# & Bull Air Tamasha ...

LOL.. Red Bull is not just a energy drink, they started Red Bull Air Race World Championship 10 years back or so. They also have a Formula 1 racing team.

Now dont tell that they should not take part in F1 racing, since they manufacture energy drink..

    Jossy Mumbai,

Red Bull is an Energy Drink. You have to keep in mind it was only because of the Pilots had taken consumed red Bull & that is how they landed safely.

Red Bull is an energy drink and has nothing to do with the aviation industry.
I wonder why these non professionals were allowed to do aeronautical stunts.

@jossey do u mean by what u say? red bull is just the owner of the plane. every team which wants to take part must have a recognised licensed pilot to fly the plane. no offence but please dont make such immature remarks if u r not aware of whats going on. CHEERS :)
