Mangaluru, Feb 19: Dakshina Kannada Youth Congress on Thursday February 19 staged a protest against the union government demanding reduction in the petrol prices.

To drive home their point, the Youth Congress members sold petrol at Rs 30 per litre during the protest.

Addressing the protest, Mithun Rai, district Youth Congress president, said, "The union government is fooling the people. Earlier the UPA government provided petrol for Rs 67 when the international price was 145 dollars for a barrel. But now the international petrol price has come down to 45 dollars a barrel, but the BJP-led union government has failed to reduced the price in accordance with international rates."

He also said that before the Lok Sabha elections, Prime Minister Narendra Modi had assured of getting black money back but he has failed to fulfil it.

S K Arthanari, general secretary of Youth Congress, Raveendradas, secretary, Nazir Bajal, Praveen Chandra Alva and others were present.

i am common man.i dont like this political way of talking.if there is any economic experts can they explain me in a simple way why the petrol prices r still rs.80 while the crude price is less than $60 .before the crude price was double(more than $ 100)and still the petrol price was rs.70-80.

If these youth congress workers want to help the public they should take up the cause of reducing the minimum auto fares from Rs. 25 to 20. Their own party is in power in the state and they are still being taken for ride by the autoriksha drivers. Probably their leader Rai wants it this way because he has already got the votes he wanted by the people. Now he will wake up close to next election. Till then he will be a puppet in the hands of auto drivers association.

Lingappa, Kuppepadavu/Amsterdam even BJP are washed out in Delhi election after spending crores of rupees and bringing the entire force of BJP.. Do You Know Why??? Because the people know the truth of BJP government now they are aware about the game plans of BJP, it means the next election BJP will be out if they don't do anything for the nation. I am sure you must have read businessman Mr. Parekh's news about no improvement nothing been done by Modi and his government after 9months in power.

When UPA was in power, Cong replaced Reddy and made Moily as petroleum minister.

When such a corrupt person was made petrol minister, its natural for cong to have enough money in their hands to sell it now at 30 rupees.

    No shame to their face.

Dr. Manamohan Singhji can sell petrol at Rs.75 while the petrol prices were $140/

Chaaiwaala is a sociologist and not an economist. He is surrounded by most criminals in the 16th loka sabha.
