Mangaluru, Feb 20: A woman allegedly assaulted her husband in full public view in front of a shop near Clock Tower, Hampankatta here on Friday February 20.

It is said that Manjula, who works in a shop near the Clock Tower, had married Lingaraju from Davangere some years back. Theirs was a love marriage. However, later Manjula separated from him due to his addiction to alcohol, and since then, refused to allow him near their children too.

Despite the estrangement, Lingaraju has been visiting her every day to try and meet their children, police sources said.

On Friday, when he came once again, an argument arose between the couple, snowballing into a full-fledged quarrel.

In a fit of rage, Manjula allegedly assaulted her husband with footwear.

As soon as the quarrelling began, curious onlookers began to gather and tried to intervene.

The Bunder police took the couple for inquiry and released them after reaching a compromise. No case has been filed.

In view of her gutsy and courageous nature Police should consider enrolling her in the women police force. It would be rehabilitation and help her improve her earnings.

North Karnataka people had to come to Mangaluru only because the Tulunadu people are lazy and cannot do hard work and always busy in petty politics. Just for plucking Coconut local people take Rs.50 per Tree and for Arecanut plucking Rs.900/- for just four hours per day, that too every thing on their terms and never come on agreed day.

There are some reality shows on Kannada channels where the wife is provoked by the anchor to beat husband right in front of the Camera just to increase TRP.
Most probably this woman is inspired by such Kannada channel shows.

There is no such thing as a "broken family." Family is family, However, if you couple turn it over to God he promises that you will see the big picture in the hereafter. Nothing is too small to be a mistake...

Now there is no respect for husband. Even SOME of the ladies are not respecting their in-laws.
I agree that, both husband and wife should be treated equal. But when it comes to family matter, definately it should be in between the 4 walls. At least, NOT in public!

There should be some love & kindness in this lady and with the some counseling this person would have been alright. There are alcohol reliability centers where the person can be relieved from his bad habit. But LOVE & forgiveness is not there in this lady. This public drama shows how this lady is respectful in spite of her husband comes to see his beloved children.Lets not forget that alcoholism is a sickness we need to be help him out to come out of this and live good family life.

The man married a very responsible woman who takes care of their children by earning their living by herself. What if she had left his children behind and gone ?

To be troubling her at her workplace is equal to inviting end to her employment because her employer many not like her being distracted from work. Perhaps she did the right thing to stop his future visits keeping in mind her children's hunger.

If he had taken the responsibility by not spending his earnings on alcohol, this situation would not have arisen.
