Sexual harassment of minor - two remanded to judicial custody

Daijiworld Media Network - Mangaluru (SP)

Mangaluru, Feb 21: Two persons, Mohan and Venkatesh, from Kaiyoor near Suratkal, who were found to sexually harassing a minor girl at Nadugodu bus stop near Kinnigoly have been remanded to judicial custody.

The police suspect the involvement of another person in this act. The policemen, who are looking into several other complaints that have emerged against the above two youngsters, have also been investigating the role of their other possible accomplice.

These two persons, who were found to be involved with sexually harassing a minor girl near Nadugodu bus stop near Kinnigoly were arrested by Mulky police with the support of some local people. Some school children had narrated to the locals the ordeal school girls undergo at the hands of some people riding on motor bikes. Some young people from the area prepared themselves to provide relief to the kids, and were awaiting for these trouble mongers to arrive at the spot again.

On Thursday the local youths caught hold of the two men red-handed. But the culprits reportedly tried to intimidate the people by claiming that they belong to scheduled tribes and that the police are helpless in acting against them. Even when the police arrived, they tried to show the same arrogance, but the police tamed them before registering a case and producing them in the court, it is gathered.

I bet you they will be set free within couple of days because they belong to particular community where govt protects them at any cost.

.They look like sex maniacs. Some innocent soul may have been saved from these sex vultures.

Scheduled tribes/cast people usually are arrogant and started cultivating artificial pride. I had seen such attitude from SC sitting in government offices.

It is very ridiculous that caste system in world's biggest country like in India is biggest nuisance and disaster for the growth/development/progress of the country.By showing the SC/ST or any other minority cards, nobody can play with the law of the land.Law and order is equal to all the citizens of the country regardless of their caste, religion, creed, language and political status. But unfortunately in democratic, secular country like India it is lacking and which is why people are misusing their rights and power without any fear.Police department also sometimes play blame games and hand in gloves with such miscreants. This caste system kills everybody,it should be there but there should be some limit on it.It does not mean that by belonging to SC/ST or certain other minority group, they can indulge in any kind of criminal activities and other kind of acts.Shame on them.Such elements should be severely punished or eliminate from this world through encounter. All are equal in this country.Government should not keep reservations for such guys merely on the basis of their caste, religion.Every one should be treated equally.Government should not play vote bank politics. All these nonsenses happening only because of our great politicians for their selfish benefits/motives.

Scheduled tribes and that the police are helpless in acting against them, why? So if they had to rape and murder these kids still police would not be able to act, where in the world it says that if a Scheduled tribes person do some serious crime and police cannot arrest them. What law is this###

How come someone use SC card for their crime and police is unable to act......put them behind bar we must look crime without caste or religion angle....
Another thing to be noted ..
Bar reservation based on caste we need merit based society often rich children from lower caste gets easy job and free seats in college where as poor children from higher caste it is difficult for them...

This SC/ST advantage made more discomfort to general public than good. It became a notion that if a person is of the above sect, you have to be tolerant irrespective of their misconduct. Similar to might is right....here SC/ST is right.
