Demand for dalit CM irrelevant: Digvijaya Singh

Bengaluru, Feb 22 (DHNS): AICC general secretary in charge of Karnataka, Digvijaya Singh, on Saturday dismissed as irrelevant the growing demand by dalit organisations to make State Congress president G Parameshwara the chief minister of the State.

“It (the demand) is irrelevant. The Congress high command will take an appropriate decision at an appropriate time,” he told reporters who sought his comments on the demand for a dalit chief minister. He was speaking on the sidelines of a function organised by KPCC.

I have the eligibilty : Parameshwara

Speaking to reporters after inaugurating a wine festival, Parameshwara said he had all the eligibility to become the chief minister and defended dalit organisations that have been demanding that he should be made the chief minister. There is nothing wrong with a community expressing its wish. It is not proper to criticise the community leaders for raising their demand, he said.

He termed as meaningless accusations that he was instigating the dalit organisations. Parameshwara refused to react to reported statements by some Cabinet ministers that dalits will have to wait till the next Assembly elections to see one of their leaders become the chief minister.

Congress is known for Committing blunders & Corruption, no doubt in that. They could not make it's own Party men a CM. They imported Siddu to catch votes & the drama is going on in front of us everyday. How the state can prosper in such a situation? Anyway it's the last & final Congress Govt in KARNATAKA. Thanks to AAP.

angara and halady have been meted out injustice by state bjp leaders and instead of them, they gave preference to moneybags and result is humiliating defeat in twin districts with both halady(independent winning by record margins) and angara winning and almost all the bjp candidates biting dust except sunill kumar of karkala who won by a very thin margin.

state bjp leaders, better learn from thier mistakes if they want to be a realistic player in next assembly election as this time a new political entity, black horse aap is ready for aurengatum in karnataka.

i am not a supporter of cong.but pammu lost bcoz of internal sabotage.

koratagere which is pammu constituency has sizeable number of kurubas and thier votes decide who will win in that constituency.

during last assembly elections, kurubas voted enmass to opposite candidate as they thought if pammu won, siddhu will not become cm.therefore pammu lost and siddhu became cm.

pammu was too naive to understand this plan.in prev ls elections, dalits voted against congress candidate in tumkur(pammus constituency) and mysore(defeating popular dalit leader vishwanath against novice and non mysore candidate pratap simha) and therby pammu exacted revege against siddhu.

The tragedy with congressmen is that they do not learn lessons. ONce in power they try to destabilise the government clamouring for power all the time. When the people get disillusioned by their greed for power than a desire for service, the throw the govt., out of office during elections. Once out of power they expect the High Command to bring them back to power. The congressmen in Karnataka should allow the CM to complete his term. Any anomalies should be set right following the principles of natural justice. Mob mentality should not be applied to unseat a person. So far the govt., is doing well except for few eccentric elements in the govt. amongst Ministers who make stupid statements at times. Mr. Digvijay Singh should put up an "Action Taken Report(ATR)" on the manifesto of the Congress on which they came to power in Karnataka and publish it on a six month basis. Misfit Ministers should be shown the door. The ATR should be published in newspapers under the banner "Promises V/s Performance". Introspection is required amongst congressmen instead of infighting and mudslinging against each other. Time to act or else be prepared to take the boot from the people.

if congress had some brains they should have elected paramneshwar cm before itself instead of siddhu.

when devegowda denied siddhu cm post even after sonia agreed to give siddhu cm post when jds-cong govt was there in karnatakadevegowda denied siddhu cm post as he knew siddhu was authoritarian and handed cm post to powerless dharam singh leaving siddhu with dy cm post.that time siddhu wanted to join bjp as he was strong critic of congress then but at last moment he changed decision as bjp was not too receptive to this thought as they knew siddhu had high ambitions.later siddhu was thrown from jds in unceremonious manner from jds and he joined cong and rest is history.

dailts who are traditional supporters of bjp in karnataka last time supported congress thinking thier own man parameshwar will become cm.after coming to power, forget about cm post he was denied dy cm post also by congress.
this has angered dalits and they will revolt against congress in next elections supporting bjp.
bjp is also backing parameshwar for cm post as parameshwar is highly educated, polished, balanced man and is having capability and stature of sm krishna when it comes to karnatakas alround development.

if parameshwar is not made cm at earliest, congress will have tough times ahead.all in all good days are ahead for bjp.bjp is using the same ploy of what congress used when they were ruling karnataka.
    thats why there is saying

"those who are in glass house should not pelt stones on others house"

Yes, you are right. Also give these advise to Muslim organisations, to look into themeselves, improve their own brethern and community AND NOT GIVING UDRI SUGGESTION as TO WHY DALITS ARE MISTREATED BY HINDUS, FOR YEARS!!.... even your mulla committee goes and asks such questions to RSS? why you want to split hinus further, instead of uniting them? ..

Yes, historical mistreatment are set right with reservation and more equality to them now.. why bring such old issues? ...I am always surprised with this attitude.
if I tell, Christians and muslims killed, raped converted people - pat comes the reply, DONT DIG OLD PAST, THOSE WERE KINGS AND BRITS, WE HAVENT DONE ANY INJUSTICE>. if HINDUS say samething, oh.... it is wrong.. vhe vhe vhe

    Jossey,

Why are you pointing finger towrads BJP for disorders in congress? Don't you know sections of the congress leaders including Kharge, DKS, Ambarish, Shamanur Shivashankarappa, HK Patil, Kagodu Thimmappa etc are not happy with Siddu and want him to be dethroned from CM post.

Demand for new CM has gained momentum because of the following reasons.

    1. Siddu is completing 2 years shortly. For the next 2.5 years they want a congress cm. Siddu joined congress around 10 years back and become CM. This is indigestible for native congress men including Kharge and Parameshi.

    2. Congress high command has become spineless now after successive election losses unlike earlier time. Knowing their weakness, Karnataka congis know High command can be brought under pressure to meet their demand.

    3. Parameshi knows this is the last chance for him to become CM since congress is not going to come to power in future. Being KPCC president he worked hard to bring the party to power and CM post is being enjoyed by someone else. So he is firing bullets from Dalit organizations CM.

All these problems are occurring due to silence and weakness of congress high command. I think state congis will revolt against Hi-Command to make Parameshi as CM like Yeddy did in the past.

BJP might be giving moral support to Parameshwar and enjoy the scene from behind. After all they are also politicians. But problem is within congress party.

This dalit mantra is heard recently in Karnataka's Congi circle is only a part of power struggle ahead in the party.Be in the power is the best way to escape from IT regulations,CBI raids, way to become super rich by earning/ hoarding black money through education, land deals, other various enterprises by politicians. We have numerous cases where these people barring poliical affiliations made big strides in the areas referred to above.People dont understand. Its a flow from bottom to top!
Eevery govt is run by corrupts/corrupt mega indl houses in the country. The present explosons higlighting leaking of secret information in govt level through file thefts is also a part of the modes operadi of politics by corrupts. We common people sing only 'Jana Gana man' or 'Vande matharam' with great devotion on various occasions to show our patriotism from time to time!!!But country is in the hands of looters, ant nationals, corrupts, anti socials since years.Hoping for a change hopelessly on the ONLY WAY OUT FOR PEOPLE LIKE US...COMMON VOTERS!!!!
