Bengaluru: Dalit CM issue - Congress leaders told to 'shut up'

Bengaluru, Feb 22: With all and sundry Congress leaders, including ministers and even KPCC Chief Dr G Parameshwara and leaders of various Dalit organisations, repeatedly making public utterances on the need for a leader from among the Dalits becoming chief minister of Karnataka, the party high command is believed to have advised all the Congress leaders to virtually 'shut up' and refrain from publicly airing their views.

The statements for and against the Dalit becoming chief minister have the potential of damaging the image of the Congress party, the high command has reportedly advised the Congress functionaries.

The Congress party high command’s stern warning to the State Congress leaders was reportedly conveyed by AICC General Secretary Digvijaya Singh, who is also the party in charge for the State.

"The continued debate on the Dalit as chief minister issue is totally unwarranted and unnecessary," Singh is believed to have told Dr Parameshwara.

Digvijaya Singh is also reported to have asked Chief Minister Siddaramaiah to direct all his cabinet colleagues not to speak either for or against the issue as the "post of the chief minister is not vacant.'

Singh is known to have told Dr Parameshwara not to speak on the issue as it will harm the image of the party.

He is also known to have been upset at Revenue Minister V Srinivasa Prasad and Social Welfare Minister H Anjaneya, both of whom belong to the Dalit community like Dr Parameshwara and reportedly asked the chief minister to direct his cabinet colleagues that publicly speaking on the issue was not in the interests of the party.

"We need to remain united and speak in unison," Singh is believed to have said.

We the Karnataka people are very unfortunate. We don't have a single leader to be proud of be it from Congress or BJP or any party.Nobody seems to be bothered about the welfare of the state. They always claim that they are secular and all the time obsessed with and talking about caste, creed and religion. They just don't seem to worry about what people think about them. What is the benefit to the state and the people of Karnataka if Parameshwar becomes the CM?

When the Bureocrates are against Present Hon"ble CM. and creating opsticals for the image of Govt., as well as Party, the Hon'ble CM should watch what are the good goings are not allowed to carry by the Buerocates, then the thinking of change of CM will automatically works. SO Govt mechaninaraies are not properly working in favour of general public to implement then Public will never hesitate to support even AAP.Now the implementation part is very very poor.

lol.. AHINDA da 'DA' pondu! vhe vhe vhe.. Bala Kai Dalits anyway have ditched COng long back, now even edagai dalits will quit this fraud party! ... their idea of dalit uddhara is, by appointing few "intelectuals- so called poets from dalit organisation for sahitya sammelana, awards and BDA sites and in return getting good media support like Lankesh Putrike etc"! vhe vhe vhe..real dalit lives in pathetic condition, because, all new appeasement scheme of Siddu is only for minorities as he hates dalits himself.. purposefully he sent Kharge to Loksabha - thinking not giving LoP will boomerang on Modi - but people know if there was a LoP position really avaliable then it would have been SOnia herself and not kharge would have been ever called! - Parameshi is also made to lose by Siddu and patalam!... wait for few more months, they have baadoota (non veg feast) ready, by voters!! vhe vhe vhe
