Sharjah: 'Chilly Willy' Satish Venkataramana is new prez of Karnataka Sangha

Sharjah, Feb 23: Satish Venkataramana, one of the dynamic Mangalurean community leaders and successful entrepreneur of 'Chilly Willy' fame in the UAE, has been unanimously elected as the president of Karnataka Sangha, Sharjah.

Satish, popularly known as 'Chlly Willy' is a supporter of Indian cultural events in the UAE irrespective of caste, creed, language, religion and region, and is particularly popular among the Kannadigas in the UAE.















The election for the new committee was held on Saturday February 21 at Fortune Plaza hotel in Sharjah, presided over by immediate past president Shantharam Achar.

The newly-elected office-bearers are as follows:

President: Satish Venkataramana
Vice-presidents: M E Muloor/ Sugandharaj Bekal
General secretary: Ananth N
Joint secretary: Abdul Razak
Treasurer: Shashikanth Kanangi
Joint treasurer: Ananda Byloor
Cultural secretary: Vishwanath Shetty
Joint cultural secretary: Rajesh Kuthar
Sports secretary: Sandeep Rao
Joint sports secretary: Jeevan Kukyan

Manjula Ganesh Rai, Suvarna Satish Poojary, Rajani Jeevan Kukyan, Usha Vishwanath Shetty, Rohini Ananth and Wahida Razak have been elected members of the executive committee.

The general body meeting was held prior to the elections. Rohini Ananth conducted the prayer.

Shantharam Achar thanked each and everyone who cooperated and support him during his tenure. Shashikanth Kannangi presented the annual report and Anand Byloor presented the financial report. Mark Denis conducted the election process.
