Moodbidri, Feb 25: Deputy commissioner of Dakshina Kannada district, A B Ibrahim, paid a surprise visit to the offices of Moodbidri tahisldar and sub-registrar on Tuesday February 24, and scrutinized some files.

At first, he went to the office of the tahsildar, where he verified some files and expressed unhappiness about the delay in disposal of certain matters. He asked the employees in the office to promptly attend to the needs of the general public. His attention then went towards the accumulation of garbage and other waste in the premises of the office. He questioned the officials about the reason for the municipality not clearing the waste, and asked them to contact the municipality and get the needful done in the matter without delay.

At the office of the sub-registrar, he gave vent to his disapproval at the haphazard condition inside the office. He also made a note about lack of space, improper seating arrangement outside, non-maintenance of restrooms, and lackkof other basic requirements.

He also obtained information about the number of employees working in the office on regular basis and on daily wage basis.
