Shivamogga: 'An accused has confessed to Gajanur murder' - IGP

Shivamogga, Feb 25: Eastern zone inspector general of police, Nanjunda Swamy, has stated that one of the arrested persons relating to the violence and murder of a person at Gajanur Camp in the district has confessed to the crime.

It may be recalled that some persons who were returning home in the evening after participating in a programme organized by Popular Front of India in the city on Thursday February 19 had indulged in violence and killed a person named Alkola Vishwanath Shetty (40) at Gajanur Camp. Four persons were arrested relating to this incident.

Muhammed Nissar (21), Aseed Ahmed (32), Arshad Ahmed (27), and Muhammed Hanif (43) from Kody near Kundapur were arrested relating to the above incident and produced before the judge on Tuesday February 24 evening.
