Riyadh: Roshan Lobo elected president of Aangann Konknechem

Riyadh, Feb 25: Glen Roshan Lobo, hailing from Bondel, Mangaluru, has been elected the president of Aangann Konknechem Riyadh.

The election was held during this year's annual general meeting of Aangann Konknechem in Riyadh on February 20. The AGM was a resounding success and helped pave the way forward.


The following members were voted for and elected as office-bearers to form the executive committee:

President: Glen Roshan Lobo, Bondel
Vice president: Carol D’Souza, Mangaluru
General secretary: Jacinta D’Souza, Mangaluru
Joint secretary: Janet Alva, Mudarangadi
Coordinators: Naveen Melwyn D’Souza, Palimar
Treasurer: Alfred Fernandes, Sirsi

Cultural secretaries: Jaison Cardoza, Udyavar and Saritha D’Souza, Palimar
Sports secretaries: Felix D’Silva, Paladka and Herald D’Souza, Mudarangadi
PRO: Gerald D’Souza, Mudarangadi

Arun D’Souza, Palimar was chosen as the advisor to AKR executive committee.

Outgoing president Arun D’Souza thanked one and all for supporting him in his eight-year tenure as the president of AKR. He thanked all the well-wishers and Konkani lovers of Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and other Gulf countries too.

A detailed financial statement was given by Alfred Fernandes highlighting the contributions and expenditures incurred. The report also included AKR's contribution to the sick and needy through various trusts and individuals.

Aangann Konknnechem Riyadh is a non-profitable organization involved in promoting Konkani culture and language through various programmes in Riyadh. It has also conducted several programmes to help the youth to promote their talent since its inception in 2007. The organization is also helping the poor in their educational needs and is involved with several charitable institutions in Mangaluru.
