Mangaluru, Feb 25: A person from Mumbai who had gone missing in Dharmasthala, Beltangady, and who was allegedly murdered as claimed by suspects who were detained in the case, has been reportedly found alive at Bolar in the city.

An elderly person, who seemed to be a destitute, was found by the locals at Bolar. Believing him to be the missing Ramdas Poojary whose photo had appeared in the media over the past week, the locals contacted the Beltangady police, who in turn got in toucch with their counterparts in Pandeshwar.
The Pandeshwar police arrived at the spot and took him to the police station. He was later handed over to Beltangady police who arrived in the city.
Police sources in the city confirmed that the person found by the locals is indeed Ramdas Poojary. They also said that he had been robbed, and had become mentally unstable. Further details about he came to be in Mangaluru would be known after investigation.
His family members back in Mumbai have been informed and they are said to be arriving in Beltangady soon.
The case unfolded after police found a body of a man near Netravati bridge in Dharmasthala on February 20. Initially it was assumed that the body was that of Ramdas Poojary, but when the four persons from Bellari detained in the missing case were brought to the spot for identification, they said the body was not of Ramdas, but of an unidentified man who they had killed. They had also claimed that they had murdered Ramdas for money, but the police refused to confirm as his mortal remains were not found.
Next day, as seach for Ramdas continued, the police stumbled upon another unidentified body in the same vicinity. However, its connection to the case was not immediately known.
Among the four who were detained, Mallesh was arrested and sent to police custody.
