Mangalore, Jan 27: Within a few hours of publishing the news that notorious rowdy Pandu alias Panduranga Pai was arrested by police in Madikeri, another news is now hitting headlines.  The sources said that his mother has expressed apprehension that he would be shot dead by police shortly.  The same sources said that with this apprehension she is getting ready to file Habeas Corpus case in High Court.

As reported earlier Pandu and one of accomplices were arrested from an estate in Gonikoppa near Madikeri on Thursday January 25 night.  Rowdy Pandu has 20 cases against him in Dakshina Kannada alone.  There are several case filed against him in Udupi and Mumbai as well.

As soon as the news about his arrest spread, news too spread that he will be encountered.  It was also known that the police had not informed her about the arrest of Pandu.  She is now getting ready to filed Habeas Corpus petition in High Court.  She is of the opinion that police may kill her son in a fake encounter.  She has appealed IGP and SP that some senior police officers have threatened to kill her son in encounter.

However, the police are yet to confirm any of this news.  They have not yet given any official statement either regarding arrest of Pandu or his accomplice.   This has given rise to more suspicion in the minds of several.  Though it is known that one more person has been arrested along with Pandu, no one knows as who is he.  There are several theories that it could be either Shaktivelu or Alwyn Pinto.  Both of them are faithful accomplices of Pandu and have several cases against them.

However, nothing is clear so far other than that Pandu has been arrested in Madikeri.  But nothing more is official yet.
