Mangalore, Jan 28: The Tulu Nataka Kalavidara Okkoota has selected senior drama artiste and director Anand Bolar, and stage coordinator and director Richard Castelino for Taulava Award 2005 and 2006, respectively.

Bolar and Castelino will receive the award at the annual function of the okkoota being organised in association with the Department of Kannada and Culture at the Town Hall, here on February 4.

Machchendranath Pandeshwar, president of the okkoota, told presspersons here on Saturday that Tulu theatre had undergone several positive changes in the recent years. Introduction of latest technical advances in stage management had increased the popularity of Tulu language, drama and culture, he said.

The okkoota will pay tributes to M Mohan Rao, Gopinath Bhat Gulvady, Machchendranath Ullal, Ramachandra Ullal and Shekar Attavar for their contribution to Tulu drama. J. Seetharam Shetty and Ramdas Devadiga, senior artistes, will be provided with financial assistance. Vijaya Arun, Mayor, will inaugurate the function.
