Mangalore, Jan 28: The biggest ever State-level chess event of DK district 'State Level Children Chess Fest-2007' organised by Lourdes Central School (LCS), Mangalore in association with Derik's Chess School concluded Saturday, Jan 27.
Chief guests Rama Murthy, General Manager, Corporation Bank distributed prizes to the winners. Fr J P Tauro, Manager, LCS, Grace Noronha, Principal, LCS, Prasanna Rao, Chief Arbiter, Veerendra Alva, Convener, Pratham Bhandary, President, PTEC were also present on the occasion.
The overall prize for the best participating school was bagged by St Agnes English Primary School.
Sharada Vidyalaya was awarded runner up. More than 220 participants from across the State had taken part in this unique event. The festivities were sponsored by Karnataka Bank and Corporation Bank.
