Mangalore, Jan 29: KSRTC Prayanikara Seva Samiti has threatened to stage a rasta-roko if the administration does not stop contract carriage buses from letting passengers alight at city’s Jyothi Circle.

Addressing a press conference here on Sunday January 28, Dalit Sangharsha Samiti president P Keshava said that though the administration had promised to take action in this regard in a statement issued on May 19, 2006, it has not implemented the decision.

Further, district in-charge minister B Nagaraj Shetty had convened a meeting in July last year to shift the contract carriage bus stand to Kankanady Maidan but so far nothing no action has been taken, he alleged.

He also urged the administration to take strict action on bus drivers and conductors of contract carriage buses who have been involved in assaults against the KSRTC staff.
