Udupi, Jan 29: Pramod Madhvaraj, president of Nagarjuna Protest Committee is said to have resigned from his post. Though it is not officially confirmed, the sources said that Pramod is visibly annoyed with regard to some comments made against him.

He is said to told his close circle that despite taking all decisions in the meeting of the committee, some members are trying to tarnish his image by commenting that decision were lop-sided and taken without consulting with anyone.

However, the problem is aggravated when Pramod did not accompany the team which went to Vishakhpatnam in Andhra Pradesh to study the Simhadri Power Project.  Though he had promised to join the group in Vishakhpatnam, owing to cancellation of flights for two days, he had to come back.  This was highly criticized by many.  Some of them had even gone one step further in saying that Nagarjuna had succeeded in bribing Pramod.

On the other hand reports said that it was decided that no statements will be issued or any other information about the study tour will be given to media during the tour, newspapers carried various stories almost everyday.  Pramod is of the opinion that this information was leaked to media by the tour party. 

Peeved and hurt by all these developments, Pramod has resigned from his post said sources.  He has also said that has not been lured by anyone so far and that no one would succeed in luring him.  "I am ready to go to any shrine or holy place and take oath and say that I have not been bribed.  So I am ready to face any enquiry," he said.
