Puttur, Feb 28: In a tragic domestic accident, a nine-month-old child lost its life after a wooden ladder leaned against the wall slid and fell on the child. The incident occurred at Santyadka in Noojibalthila village near Kadaba in the taluk on Friday February 27.
The child, Tanveeth, son of Prasad and Pratibha couple from Santyadka, was sleeping in the cradle located adjacent to the said ladder. When the mother of the child placed the ladder in the room where the child was sleeping, and started climbing the rungs of the ladder to reach the attic for some purpose, the base of the ladder skidded and the ladder directly fell on the sleeping child.
As a result, the child suffered serious injuries to its head and lost its life, it is gathered.
