Jaitley recites couplet on government's achievements

New Delhi, Feb 28 (IANS): Highlighting the achievements of his government, Finance Minister Arun Jaitley Saturday recited a couplet in parliament that elicited loud applause from the treasury benches.

"Kuch to phool khilaye humne, aur kuch phool khilane hai, mushkil yeh hai bagh mein ab tak, kaante kai puraney hai (We have made some progress and are working towards achieving goals but there are some hindrances from the past in the way), Jaitley said, referring to the policies of the previous UPA government.

Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MPs appreciated the couplet by thumping their desks loudly.

Jaitley mentioned the Jan Dhan Yojna, coal mine auction and Swachh Bharat campaign as some of the successes of the government.
