Kasargod: Mysterious fireball blazes trail of fear across places

Kasargod, Mar 1: People in the city and elsewhere in Kerala saw a fireball falling down from the sky. The incident occurred on the night of Friday February 27 at 10.30 pm. The flames from the ball in the sky made the people aroused curiousity and fear alike.



The fireball was seen in Mogral Puttur, Kiyoor, Chengala, Periya, and Kaliadka of Kasargod district as well as Ernakulam, Kottayam, Idukki, Palakkad and Kozhikode districts. Rain coupled with thunder and mild earthquakes also accompanied the phenomenon in some places.

Meanwhile, an area of four acres in Paravooru in Kerala, where the fireball landed was found burnt on the afternoon of Saturday February 28. The officials of the meteorological department have said that it might be the remains of a meteor or a rocket.
