Yadgir: Cotton mill catches fire - Rs 10 crore loss estimated

Yadgir, Mar 1: Reportedly, 15,000 quintals of cotton burnt down on Saturday February 28 after a cotton mill caught fire. The cotton agro industries, owned by Basavarajappa Sajjan Setti by the side of Shahapur-Yadgir highway, suddenly caught fire on Saturday afternoon. Reasons for the fire are unknown as yet.

The fire was first witnessed at 10.30 am. The fire brigade was called immediately. Fire tenders from Sahahpur failed to control the fire as they faced shortage of water. It is gathered that fire tenders from Yadgir reached the scene later and brought the fire under control after prolonged effort.

The loss in the incident has been estimated at ten crore rupees. The police have begun investigation into the incident.
