Mangaluru: Ghar Wapsi not a big issue: Sadhvi Balika Saraswati at Kadri Temple

Mangaluru, Mar 1: "Hindus of Dakshina Kannada district are very alert. They believe deeply in God and follow their culture, they are very polite and everybody knows about this," said Sadhvi Balika Saraswati.

She was addressing reporters after her visit to the city's Kadri Manjunatha Temple here on Sunday March 1. She offered puja at the temple and sought blessings.

Sadhvi Balika Saraswati from Madhya Pradesh will be delivering the main address at the Virat Hindu Samajotsava to be held at Nehru Maidan the same evening.

On the Ghar Wapsi issue, Sadhvi said, "Ghar Wapsi is not a big issue as media is making it to be. Nobody speaks about convertion of Hindu people, but when it comes to Ghar Wapsi, everyone gets alerted. Doing Ghar Wapsi is not a bad thing. There are 100 crore Hindus and if we do Ghar Wapsi in the right manner then the population of our Hindus would be 125 crore."

She added, "All I want to say is that Hindus should be aware of the many issues happening in society like domination of western culture, increase in love Jihad, and conversion to other religions. Hindus are being divided, they are being slaughtered, and Bharat Mata is being criticized. Cow slaughter has to be stopped. I am going to speak about these issues at the Samajotsava."

Campco president Konkodi Padmanabha and other VHP members were also present.

There is no maturity in the talk. This is nothing but politics. From childhood I remember growing up and educated with most of girls from Hindu community. I am a catholic and follow my religious values very closely. Similarly my friends. We never ever spoken about religion at anytime. Why now media and politicians making a big news? who is getting benefited. Isn't the politicians? Instead of concentrating the portfolio assigned to the ministers, they are after conversion. I tell no catholic people will convert anyone. Its the individual who takes his or own decision because they believe. So stop lecturing about ghar wapsi but do the ground job. Take care of the sick and disabled and find peace in your heart. Allow the individual to live the life and follow the religion. Remember there is only one God who wants us to live loving one another. Let there be peace in you and love each other. God Bless you.

    Mr. Rajesh,
Firstly, I'm sure you will definitely have someone in your family who was educated in a Christian institution.
All schools and colleges follow certain policies to inculcate social values in children. This must not be mistaken for religious sentiments.
Please check before you speak. If you go to any Christian school, the Christian have separate classes called Catechism which speak about Christianity and students belonging to other religions have something called Moral Science where nothing about Christianity is spoken of. Please verify this.
After all this, if you are so agitated by the conditions of the Christian schools, then please move out such children to alternative schools. Why do you want convent education fro your children ?? So that such children will get big jobs and earn enough money to provide funds for outfit organizations to carry out their hate crimes and cast the first stone against the very school that educated them. Is this the motive ??
Secondly, on the burqa issue - I put the question back to you - The Christians are soft targets who don't generally indulge in arson - we are just 2.26% in India. There are other bigger religions. Why are the Hindu outfits not targeting them ?? Are they scared of them ??

    Dear All,

A lot of people had converted earlier by force or by giving preach etc. Before independence people converted due to the importance to their sub caste Today its different scenario. Many kings looted India and converted by force. But now we are living in the world of freedom. We love the freedom given to the media and the voice of people can be heard .Even in America media has the freedom.
Today the power comes from the religion. All the leaders using religion as path to approach easily. This has to stop everywhere. When it comes to religion they forget that we are human. We must know there is only 1 religion, that is human.

So think positively and be positive always in life.

After completing my graduation in 1996 at St. Aloysius i was in Houston, USA working where i was asked if i wished to apply for a green card (Residency) when / if i am eligible. My answer was 'NO' as i felt my Country (India), my town (Mangalore) although not perfect and lacks development by a country mile when compared to developed countries is still not a bad place to live. I said to my self and my friends if we all pull in one direction we can make significant progress. Few years later in 2001 i headed to Perth (Australia) for higher studies and on completion i again had an opportunity to apply for a Permanent Residency. My answer was 'NO'. I returned to India and continued working. In 2005 i went for further studies to Blackpool (UK)and on completion i was offered a job by a nice organisation with an opportunity to call the country home. I again said 'No'. Although i witnessed (on TV and Papers) the demolition of Babri Masjid, Bombay Blasts when i was still in school i had hopes that we can live together peacefully. On 24 Jan 2009, all my views of my country / my town changed when i witnessed (personally) a group of uneducated, jobless, radicalised young men attacked a handful of girls in a pub in the name of culture and claimed what they did was morally right. I tried my best if i can be the witness but in vain. Within a week i decided that this is no more a place / country i want to live anymore. I moved to Australia which is now my country of choice and today i can say that my country of birth is being devided by a few individuals / groups in the name of religion, culture, language, cast, politics and anything that can be thought of. I pity the plight and future of India, its peace loving citizens and kids. This is now 'BEYOND SALVAGE' but at least I don't have to worry about it.

who is this Girl sadvi?why she came to Mangalore to give speech?we have enough People here to talk about ghar wapsi, cow slaughter and other things.Instead if she is worried about her Religion conversion.please advise her to go to North and have a look at her own religious sisters who suffer a lot,to live without education ,clothes ,Job,and children hunger.Just today I saw a Reportage about some warm up cow Urine and sell to tell People thats medicine.let her look These things first than talking about giving Paracetamol tablets to convert.poor People are struggling hard to live there selling kidneys.we here are talking about convertion,Ghar wapsi.First humanity and later Religion and rest.Instead of giving the Girls weapons, let her give education to Girls, job and a small place to live.Todays world one cant live without western or eastern style. Then we should not use Computer ,toilets, mobile, decent clothes, music,no hair style.and many more.no car ,only foot way.

As we all know that one day god himself will punish people because conversion itself is a big sin. Eg. In Christian educational institution hindu girl is not allowed to wear bangles . you talk about sacrifice. but burka you dont have guts to tell them.

"As we all know that one day god himself will punish people because conversion itself is a big sin."

Conversion is not a sin. Does your religion teach you this evil belief?

This is what Jesus Christ says in the Bible.

Mathew 18:3 "And said: Amen I say to you, unless you be converted, and become as little children, you shall not enter into the kingdom of heaven"

God will punish people who do not repent, convert their hearts and turn to him. If you believe in God, search for him. Do not fool yourself and believe conversion is a sin, lest you meet God unworthily.

@Rajesh Mangalore, hallo Rajesh I am not ignorant as you think, but you are also not very intelligent .when you say in North converted ,one cant convert by force.one cant convert without ones consent.many can tell fairy tales.may be some changed their Religion.that cant be said as converted.why do you say catholics converted?what about Hindus also started as Ghar vapsi and promised them lacs of rupees, cards and land?why should one start to Change other?with promises and later noone cared .they want only the percent.and in Colleges evry School or college have their regulations that we cannot mix.Girls are going there to study not to Show. The reason is simple.when one wears kilogold bangels or chain ,the one doesnt have feel it and pesture parents. It is just like wearing markjeans.then they start Mobbing.Thatswhy they dont allow.so because of not knowing the reason dont make a big issue.I know this even in village Schools. We should not concentrate only on Religion, and hate speaches but live together as one community and one Nation to come Forward.here is the end of further discussions

Sadhavi means to say other religions in India should convert to Hinduism. Which means all Hindus and Muslims staying in USA should convert to Christianity. And all Hindus in rest of the world should convert to the religion of that country. Sadhiviji please grow a brain, religious belief is the private choice of an individual and no one can force it on him. If Hindus were united India would have been ruled by foreigners for so many thousands ofr years.

I listened to Sadvi Balika Saraswati's speech in Youtube, that too when she was..., may be around 14 or 15 yrs old (now she may be in her early twenties or still in teens).
One thing is true that she has an admirable oratory skill set. But, by substance the better part of her speech was indirectly cursed the political party of India which ruled better part of our post independence.
But the fact is whom to blame for pre-independence history of hindustan? Hindustan & Hinduism exist for thousands of years. It is not just right to blame with a political bias ..., What about hindu kings who envy each other & allowed mogals/aryans & britishers to invade hindustan.
Hindu's must be united but not by creating artificial insecurity & vulnerability, World is changed, in modern day we need not feel to be insecure.
I am totally confused, in fact by breeding hatredness we are further degenerating hinduism & creating another taliban like sect/group, if so then the right thinking cultured hindus won't be part of such sect or group or religion.

Hindu kingdoms was a vast empire!! we have lost 80% of the people and land.. what we are left with is just this one pocket called India... Hindus have no other land! .. it is like Israel to jews! a christian and a muslim have other mother countries, which will give them asylum and shelter, in worst case! their books are held up in those lands too!... Hindus are paray in their own land! ... that is what these people are fighting for!... "fighting for survival"!! even now, if you see from west bengal side, from kashmir, from tamilnadu and kerala.. all sort of fundamentalists have entered "communists, missionaries, terrorits, mullas" slowly squeezing the majority population! if RSS kind of orgnisations were not there,

like Iran, Mesapotamia-babylon, Egypt, Afgahnistan, Europe, America, South east - the crusaders and islamists would have swindled the whole land...

Even today Chinese call us HINDUs, Arabs call us Al Hind , muslims clerics called this Hindustan including patriots like Iqbal sung Saare jahan se accha, hindustan hamara... but Nehru made sure, with his left liberal idiocy "Hinduon ko satane ka staan hindustan"!

I wish all these Sadhwi, Swamy, Khazi and Mullas speak about improving our society. We have untouchability problems, we have dowry problems where thousands of our sisters are waiting even after completing 35 years for marriage, we have poverty , in some remote areas regardless of relegioun hundreds of families living without food, shelter. In most of the interior places there are no toilets. We have education problems, we have cast problems etc.etc..
these saints talk and look for the solution to these problems. Instead they talk about ghar wapsi, holding six inch knife etc. etc.

Let it not turn into a minority bashing event. As it is 'wrong numbers' have started turning Hinduism into an anti-muslim cult.

Please do not try to communalize matters or use hatred communal speech. If you are talking about reconversion, that should be ok but not by force. Everyone has the right to choose a religion of one’s choice. May be if I want to go for Hinduism, can any one stop me or advise me not to take a step in that direction?

Actually Hindus are not interested in Conversion or Re conversion. now also and earlier also. This Ghar Vapasi Plan is only to counter the conversion program of the religions. As she told earlier no one was making issue about conversion. But now all are alerted about conversion. That was the intention and uted.
