Bengaluru, Mar 1: The government of Karnataka has appointed the chairpersons to various urban development authorities and town planning authorities. The tenure is of 18 months.

Pius L Rodrigues, well-known Congress activist in Bantwal region, and also general secretary of DK district Congress committee has been appointed as the chairperson of Bantwal town planning authority.

Similarly, Jacob D'Souza has been appointed as the chairperson of Kundapur town planning authority. He has served formerly served as vice-chairperson of Kundapur town municipal council. He was also chairperson of standing committee of the council. He has been the chairperson of Kundapur taluk auto rickshaw and taxi drivers' association for the past 25 years and has held a number of other posts too.

Other appointments in the twin coastal districts for development authorities are Janardhan Thonse for Udupi, Suresh Kotian for Moodbidri, and Betta Ishwar Bhat for Puttur.
