It is our desire to visit Malpe Sambrama Beach on our next visit to India. Malpe has some fine and nostalgic memories of the past.

If possible, we would like to sail from Mangalore port to Malpe Port and then go ashore and travel back to Mangalore via Udipi and Manipal.

It was in the year of 1955 when Jessie was sailing back to Mumbai from Mangalore I sailed from Mangalore on Scindia Passenger ship called m.s."Sarasvati" from Mangalore deep sea anchorage and sailed upto Malpe port where the Captain was kind enough to me on the country dhow and I sailed to Malpe small harbor and proceeded by bus to Udipi enroute to Mangalore. There was no port in Mangalore, and the sea was rough to go by local dhows from Bunder to the waiting Scindia ship at the deep sea anchorage. The sea was rough.

Jessie and myself parted from each other on "Sarasvati" and it was a painful parting at the age of 16. This time it will be a different scenario. We shall both disembark the ship, slowly but cautiously, hand in hand, at one time at Malpe port, and then move along to Mangalore by bus via Udipi and Kalianpur.

These are all dreams in the making and desires in the thinking. God has His own plans for the Rest of everything. Beach Sambrama, please wait for us. We are coming sooner than you think.
