Puttur, Mar 2: Jago Nagarik Vedike of Puttur taluk organized a protest against the RSS supremo, Mohan Bhagwat's statement, who accused saint and missionary for conversions in India.

According to his statement, Mother Theresa’s service had an objective to convert people. He says that conversion is done in the name of service.

About 300 people gathered holding placards as a sign of protest in front of the assistant commissioner’s office at Puttur. In the introductory speech, Vincent Menezes Kokkada, spoke about the reality of Mother Theresa’s service to man kind.

Ramachandra, working president of Sowhardha Vedike, Kolthige, spoke that, from times immemorial, Christians are known for service and charity without any prejudice. He strongly condemned the statement given by Mohan Bhawat.

The members submitted the memorandum to the assistant commissioner of Puttur, Basavaraju, to take legal action against those leaders who spoke against Mother Theresa.

The president of Jago Nagarik Vedike welcomed and thanked the gathering. The crowd dispersed peacefully.

While I do not want to comment anything on Mother Teresa I can say "jago nagrik" is another front of Congress party, a party claiming to be secular but the most "communal" party. The mixes religion in everything and then put the blame on others.
