Not open to reality shows like 'Bigg Boss': Parinita Borthakur

Mumbai, March 2 (IANS): Actress Parinita Borthakur, who essays a modern Bengali woman in Colors' new show "Swaragini", says she would love to be a part of reality shows based on singing and dancing, however, a show like “Bigg Boss” is a big "no" for her.

“I'm definitely not open for shows like 'Bigg Boss', but yes I can participate in reality shows based on dancing and everything else,” Parinita told IANS when asked if she is willing to participate in reality shows.

Parinita has not only worked in Assamese films, but has also been part of Bollywood projects like "Saas Bahu Aur Sensex", "Harpal", and "Kurbaan". She is also a singer and has released one of her albums too, and her work on the small screen has included shows like “Urmila”, “Kashmakash Zindagi Ki” and “Nargis”.

In "Swaragini", she will be seen as a Bengali woman who believes in changing with the times.

“She is a divorced, single parent, who decided to get separated from her ex-husband, for a better future of her daughter Swara. For the first time, I'm playing a mother of teenaged girl and I think I like it because she looks just like me,” said the actress, adding that she won't do such roles in future "till the time script is interesting".

“I'm not open to do such roles. I took up this role only because it's a very strong character. It's not the typical mother who is crying all the time. She is very confident and I really like it,” she added.

"Swaragini", produced by Rashmi Sharma from Rashmi Sharma Telefilms, highlights the cultural conflicts between two neighbouring families.

The show also features Helly Shah and Tejaswi Prakash Wayangankar, who play Swara Bose and Ragini Gadodia respectively along with Shobha Bose played by Tanima Sen, Parvati Gadodia played by Alka Kaushik and Shekhar Gadodia played by Sachin Tyagi.
