Mangalore, Jan 31: Well-known Konkani writer Victor Rodrigues, Kannada littérateur Dr Nadoja Chennavira Kanavi and social activist Judith Mascarenhas are among the distinguished personalities who have won the prestigious Sandesha Award for the year 2006.
This was announced in a press conference by noted Kannada writer Na D'Souza on Wednesday January 31 morning.
The annual awards which are now been recognized as one of the most prestigious awards in the state would be presented at a gala function to be held at Sandesha Lawns on Monday January 12 evening.

Sandesha Journalism Award Dr G Ramakrishna, editor, Hoasathu, Bangalore
Sandesha Cinema/TV Award B S Dwarakeesh Hunsur
Sandesha Media Education Award Kinnara Mela, Tumri, K G Krishnamurthy
Sandesha Education Award Harekala Hajabba, Harekala

The award presentation ceremony will be presided over by Bishop Aloysius Paul D'Souza of Mangalore. Dr V S Acharya, state minister for medical education and Western Range IGP H N Satyanarayana Rao will be the chief guests and will present award to the awardees.
Ronald Colaco, Bangalore-based entrepreneur, Karnataka Konkani Sahitya Academy president Eric Ozario and Karnataka Tulu Sahitya Academy president Seetharama Kulal will grace the occasion as guests of honour.
