PM disapproves of Mufti Sayeed's comments

New Delhi, Mar 3 (PTI): Breaking his silence, Prime Minister Narendra Modi today disapproved of comments of Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Mufti Mohammad Sayeed giving credit to Pakistan, Hurriyat and militants for smooth conduct of Assembly polls, saying such a statement cannot be supported.

"If somebody makes such a statement, we can never support it," Modi said in Rajya Sabha, referring to the controversial remarks made by Sayeed who is heading a PDP-BJP coalition government in the state.

Members have been demanding Modi's response to the remarks made by Sayeed soon after he was sworn-in on Sunday.

"If somebody makes a statement somewhere and we are forced to respond here, things will not work," the Prime Minister said.

He asserted that his government "will move ahead with the policy of 'zero tolerance' towards terrorism" and "all resolutions passed here (in Parliament) will be implemented in letter and spirit."

Modi said the credit for the successful elections goes to the people of Jammu and Kashmir who "removed doubts" in the international community by turning up in large numbers with "overwhelming courage and pride" and "put their stamp of approval on what India had been saying all along".

He underlined faith in people of Jammu and Kashmir while asserting his government's commitment to unity and integrity.

On questions by some members whether BJP will pull out of the coalition government over the issue, Modi said the government will run only on the basis of Common Minimum Programme (CMP).

"I want to assure this House and 125 crore people of the country that the government formed in Jammu and Kashmir is based on the Common Minimum Programme and the government will run on its basis," he said while replying to the Motion of Thanks to the President's Address.

It would have been great if PM would have commented on the spot. He was very much present during the CM oath ceremony. Why then say ... "If somebody makes a statement somewhere and we are forced to respond here, things will not work,". PM you have all the guts then why didn't you answer then and there?. I remember a incident, our ex-cricket captain Bishan Singh Bedi, while entering the pavilion in Pakistan for a cricket match, one of the Indian officials was not allowed into the stadium. Bishan Singh Bedi immediately walked out with his team. No sooner this happened Pakistani officials interfered and the matter was resolved.
Pakistan(Or supporters) require a whip and not soft words.

I wanted a CM of BJP for J&K state! that didnt happen... the Hindus specially DOGRAs in Jammu region have been neglected by years by all silamic parties! Modi govt made a Minister out of Jeetendra Singh .. HE would have been better as CM too.. but that didnt happen! Good that it didnt.. else these PDP would have made his life hell with nonsensical demands! They are just like Shivasena.. no difference! one talks of Muslim party another Hindu party... nothing "NATIONAL" in them!... but anyways, there was a need for BJP to be in power, with a depty CM and common minimum program, and their own CM candidate, center can control these and good development for Jammu region! Police and Army should be under centers control.. that is all is required in Kashmir! .,.. baaki jo bhi maango, theek hai! vhe vhe vhe if they act smart pull the support! open all the files of gulam nabi and abdullahs! Expose the PDP ..and next time ye "You are communal" kind of allegations should not come against BJP, becuase, they themselves chose to side with them!

It is LIKE VP SINGH! his government was supported by BJP and got a massive lead later..it was tried and tested formula.. it worked in Karnataka too... BJP will do well in next election in valley!..!

    SWATCH BHARATH

    NEETHI group from planning
    Commission!

CORROBORATE TAX Decreased and Service Tax for poor increased!!

..what ever may be the issue, its win win situation for BJP/RSS & INDIA as a whole..earlier all sickulars are keeping mum whenever Mufti, separatist gave statement..all these years Congress & its allies shown sympathy to separatists..now since BJP formed alliance, all are speaking against Mufti's statement..this is what RSS/BJP wanted and it seems they are succeeded..any move from PDP to please separatist or pakistan will be fired by sickularist now on..It seems BJP was opposing to give mortal remains when UPA was power, now sicularist also opposing..so many in DW forum also against handing over mortal remains to Afzal family..funny though
