Mangaluru, Mar 3: The Second PUC examinations are scheduled to begin from March 12. In all, 34,794 students from the district will be writing the examination this year. The deputy Commissioner A B Ibrahim wished the students to do well and asked the PU examination department to conduct the examinations in a transparent manner.

Deputy commissioner was speaking in a preliminary meeting held in his office with regard to the examinations. There are 185 PU colleges in the district and 34,794 students will be writing the examinations in 52 examination centres.

He asked not to use loud speakers in the vicinity of examination centres and to keep the Xerox shops in the radius of 200 metres closed from 8 am everyday till the examinations get over. The deputy commissioner suggested officials to write to Mescom asking them to ensure that power supply was not disrupted in the examination centres so that students were not put to hardship especially in rural areas.

“Last year, 89% students passed the second PU examinations. The district has done preparations to ensure 100% results this year. Arrangements are made to make the question papers reach the centres in time”, informed deputy director of PU Education, Thimmayya in the meeting.

Additional police commissioner Shekharappa, all the principals of PU colleges and education officials were present in the meeting.
