New Delhi, Feb 2: A Delhi police constable was detained late on Thursday night when he tried to sneak into the high security official residence of Prime Minister Manmohan Singh at the Race Course Road in Delhi.
It was not immediately clear through which gate he tried to enter, but the Special Protection Group guards foiled the constable's attempt and handed him over to Delhi police.
The identity of the constable, who was jointly interrogated by the police, SPG and Central Security Agencies, was not immediately available.
This is the second attempt to breach the security at the prime minister's residence in eight months. Two young women, including an airhostess from Jaipur, had crossed the first security cordon on July 27, 2006, before being stopped.
