Beltangady, Feb 2: The second day of 'Mahamajjana' began on Ratnagiri with the anointing of the monolith of Lord Bhahubhali with 1008 kalasha (pots in which the holy water is filled).
Like on the first day of the Mahamajjana, the monolith was anointed by using, tender coconut, sugarcane juice, milk, turmeric, Kalka Churna (rice flour), Chandana, Sandal, Kashaya, Chathushkona, Kumkum and flowers.
Cine actor and State Minister for Information and Broadcast Ambarish, speaking at the auspicious occasion, indicating to Dr D Veerandra Heggade he said that the entire effort of organizing the event was a virtuous task.
The fifth day of Mahamastakabhisheka witnessed the conferring of ‘Teertha Bhaktha Shiromani Award’ on Dr Heggade. The award sponsored by Charukeerthi Bhattaraka Swamiji of Shravanabelagola.
Speaking on the occasion he said "Our attitude in the international level should move towards progress. This can be achieved by ensuring peace and the objective of this Masthakabhisheka is to promote peace and to cleanse ones mind."
Minister for Science and Technology, Lottery and Small Savings Ramachandra Gowda also participated in the event.
