Generally when we hear about rape, mostly done by some not educated persons ,may be some by some Chance like retarded woman .Previously in ancient times they used to put gurts to Young Girls and lock,so that noone could rape them.now Ithink such can be used to men and lock it.Key can be kept at home .It is really shame some men still dont understand difference between child and grown up Person because he himself is not grown up.less punishment makes them it easier.

    Dear Flavian,

father raping the child, own uncle molesting the child...such bad incidents are many... what do we learn? child to be with her mother ..shouldn't trust own uncle or relatives. in dubai one man in vegetable counter in a supermarket groped a teen age girl while her mother is busy in shopping. what do we learn, keep the grown up girls at home and lock??? grand father sexually assaulted 3 years old grand daughter....do we have to learn to be away and reclusive in the society. Its situation. The situation is bad. Tomorrow i might face the bad situations no matter how much i try to be safer... tc

So what should be the right way or suggestion according to you to avoid such incidents?

Sometimes we need to learn from the bad incidents happening around us. We would not know a rapist or criminal minded person from his appearance but as I suggested, precaution is better than cure. The best parents can do is to enlighten the innocent children how to be alert.

I will say some thing but you agree or not, up to you.

We told our children during our absence anyone comes, if they are

a.) unknown, don't respond or open the door.

b.) If known person single (male or female) but very rare visitor tell them from the side window Parents gone out please come later or give them Parents contact number to speak. Same time inform the same to Parent.

c.) If known person with family comes, speak to them from the side window then open the door. Same time call Parents & inform , so & so person had come.

If any person comes during night or unknown person wants to meet parents, ask their details & call parents to inform. Accordingly act.

If anyone hiding, means you can't see their face properly from the window, or they say I met Parents & they send me to collect something (whatever) ask them the Password.

Because we have secret Passwords within the family any emergency message we send with the Password. There are two passwords, if you still have doubt on first password, ask the second password.

Mr.Flavian ...."Parents should bring some awareness" is something sensible but "Why the minor girl had to open the door when parents were away? " is senseless. Coz, normally known person like neighbour or relatives come how children will innocetly open the door. How they can think of such a cruel act on the face of a known visitor.?

Why the minor girl had to open the door when parents were away?

Parents should bring some awareness in the minds of minors to this effect. When targeted by a criminal minded people anything could happen any time but taking precaution is better than cure.

Nafeel has been booked under (PASCO)act but people in around that area have to be vigilant.

    Flavian,

I agree with you to some extent. But, we have maniacs in the society who wait for a lone male member of the house to leave for work, then to go to the house where just a mentally retarded woman is in.

Do you think the house should have been locked with the lady inside ? In-case of a fire, to get the lady charred inside ?

The lunatic in this news would have somehow convinced the girl to open the door or the girl may be unsuspecting since he had visited prior.

Your argument is at par with one that a rape could have been avoided if she had not worn Jeans !

As per survey, majority of rapes in India are by a known person, if not relatives. Apparent that the accused frequented victim's house, as such, always had a desire to do what has achieved now. If that was his mentality towards a known girl, what could his fantasy be while he comes across every single woman everyday ?

Nevertheless, was she wearing jeans ? Did she venture out all by herself ? If not, are we to keep our daughters under our wings 24 hours ?

Common parents ! Clothing or surroundings do not protect your girls from abuse ! Get them trained in Martial Arts before its too late !

Never bother if, in future, we encounter every other man as a lame or displaying a broken jaw, we women are capable of feeding them just to keep them alive to remind them about what they did to mankind while they were able !

    Lydia,

Rapists do not get opportunity to rape now and then only because of the presence of good men around in the society.

    Shankar,

Majority of the women are not raped but are safe is surely because there are more good men on earth than bad.

But rapes still take place that is because there ARE bad people, which shouldn't have been. A thief, drug paddler, smuggler - fine - we can't expect the world to be Edens Garden but just one rapist is sufficient to curtail a woman's freedom to live !?

Why ? Does she have no right to live a dignified life ? Does she have no right to reserve her body for a man who will publicly accept her as his wife ? Why ?
