Mangaluru: Hate comments on Facebook - Shriram granted bail

Mangaluru, Mar 6: Shriram Yadapaditthaya, who was arrested for allegedly posting hate comments against Christianity on Daijiworld's Facebook page, has been granted bail.

Shriram (27) was arrested on March 4 from Bengaluru with the help of Bengaluru cyber crime cell.

A native of Shivamogga, Shriram faced charges under the IT Act for posting derogatory comments against Christianity on daijiworld.com's Facebook page on a news link.

Screenshots of the comments soon went viral on social media networks especially on WhatsApp, and Christian leaders from the Mangaluru diocese approached the police commissioner and filed a complaint with the Pandeshwar police.

Shriram later posted an apology on the same news link saying that he had deleted his abusive comments and repented his action. Prior to that, daijiworld too had deleted some of the comments by him, after receiving complaints from readers and Facebook users.

He was then arrested from Bengaluru, brought to the city and produced in court.

The second JMFC court granted him bail on Thursday March 5.

    In a civilized world the State Law's must be adhered & followed strictly & implemented impartially.
    India is one of the bet countries in world to live on based age old open mindsets of the local culture & religion except he latest unpopular fundamentals as it changing. Taking law in hand not only crime but in-human.
    A leader can influence good or bad in the society depends on ones ideology but people need to be the judge.
    In this case this poor person's future is in trouble and no one & no leader will come to save his future except further encouraging on unwanted matters.
    Being Christians 'Forgiving' is not choice but command as it says 'for-giving'. May he repent and live on.

    If we respect our constitution there is no room for hatred among people irrespective of the religion.If we love our religion we will love all.Because all religion preaches love, harmony,and forgiveness and brotherhood. Hatred speeches we can see in almost all gathering either in political or in the name of some organization. This is the time to correct ourselves.

    THE POLITICAL PARTIES HAVE NOT LEARNT A LESSON INSPITE OF DELHI VERDICT.
    NO SOCIETY LIKES HATE AMONG OTHERS BUT STILL OUR STATE GOVT. DIFFERENTIATES MINORITIES VS MAJORITIES IN ALL RESPECTS TO PLEASE MINORITIES FOR VOTE BANK.
    JDS COULD HAVE PLAYED A ROLE OF AAP IN KARNATAKA BUT FAILED COPYING THE CONGI CULTURE.

    He is lucky to be born in a country like India. Yesterday one Indian was arrested in Saudi Arabia for similar crime and under trial now where punishment could be either five years of imprisonment or a fine of 3 million Riyals!

    Another USA citizen employed in UAE is also facing charges for using derogatory words against the employer...People working in UAE should be careful while using words like Kajoor..... Dear Indians take care....
    If such actions are taken against the hate mongers, definitely the days are not far away to see every Indian as disciplined....

    let me explain one thing...these right wing radicals do not understand the meaning of forgiveness and do not deserve it.

    Its essential to pursue legal cases against these hate mongers lest they will continue abusing and accusing.

    Punish them and set a precedent....they should understand the fear of law.

    I think we must all feel sorry for his non sustainable out burst,Probably he was not aware what is its out come.Let some guiding force(especially teachers/ religious leaders/...)own the responsibility of this(as teachers are one who feel proud when their ward achieve something).

    The hate mongers were sowing the seeds of hatred towards the defenseless Christian community for a very long time. There is a time limit for everything in life.

    Probably, this event will be the beginning of the end for hate monger's hobby throwing mud and shooting arrows at the Christians once for all.

    He has d the comments and repented for posting those comments. Christians have not taken to violence but protested through peaceful means. This only shows that we can achieve through peaceful means and need not show our anger through violent means. In true spirit it would be kind on the part of those who complained to withdraw the complaint. In the meantime, Shriram Yadapaditthaya should be engaged in a dialogue and find out why he is having so much bitterness towards Christianity.

    Why Satyameva Jayate? The accused has been granted bail only after registering a case against him and not let off or acquitted. Now when he travels numerous times from Bangalore or Shimoga to Mangalore for court hearings, he will realize the mistake he has committed. Please do not encourage such acts for the sake of future of numerous such youths.
