Police arrest petrol pump employee for embezzling Rs 2.25 lac

Kasargod, Mar 8: Kumble station police have arrested an employee of a petrol pump for embezzling Rs 2.25 lac.

The arrested man Ahmed Nebi alias Shani (24), hails from Vitla and is now a resident of Kadaba. He was employed in a petrol pump in Kumble Peruvadna where he is suspected to have embezzled Rs 2.25 lac.

The manager of the pump started checking after finding a shortage of money in the sale of petrol. Meanwhile, Abdul Nebi admitted to the fraud when questioned.

A complaint has been lodged with Kumble station police. The inquiry has revealed that the amount was deposited in a bank in Puttur. It is said that cheating has occurred over a period of one and a half months.
