Madonna's advice for her children

Los Angeles, March 8 (IANS): Singer Madonna likes to have an “open” chat rather than being “judgmental” when it comes to talking about sex and drugs with her children.

The 56-year-old, who has four children (Lourdes, 18, Rocco, 14, David,9, and Mercy, 8), likes being an advisor rather than making rules for them, reports accesshollywood.com.

Asked if she talks about sex with her children, she said: “It's just a fact of life, isn't it? Somehow, it's gonna happen sometime. It happened to you, so it's gonna happen to (Lourdes).

She added: “All you can do is (stress) safe sex. Have discussions about it and encourage her to be open with you about it and not judgmental.”

Speaking about her eldest daughter, she said: "I'm not a fan of taking drugs, but I'm not gonna tell my daughter not to do things. I'm just telling her to be careful.

“(I tell her) never take a drink that you haven't seen somebody pour in front of you. Don't mix alcohol. Your basics, like be safe, do everything in moderation. That's it. That's all I can do.”
