Udupi: Samajotsava - Flag march held, Prashant Hartalkar to be main speaker

Udupi, March 9: Amidst tight security hindu Samajotsav’s flag march was held at MGM College grounds here on Sunday March 8 under the leadership of Police K Annamali and ASP Santhosh Kumar.







The march began from Jodukatte, Dian circle, Triveni circle, service bus stand and crossed the Kalsanka route and finally Udupi Krishna Mutt. More than 100 police officials took part in the rally.

The objective of this march was to develop confidence among the people. The police force was all set to lead the Samajotsava peacefully.

Speaking on the occasion SP said, “Udupi is all set for organizing the Hindu Samajotsava and to maintain law and order.”

Security has been beefed up with six Dy SPs, 20 CPIs, 75 PSIs, 145 ASIs, 1005 head/police constables, 48 women police, 100 home guards, 15 KSRP and 24 DAR personnel at the venue. Nearly 150 CCTV cameras have been installed and 22 check posts are in operation at border areas.

Additional police inspectors, other districts’ police officials also participated in the flag march at Udupi town. 

VHP district president, Suprasad Shetty said,” The main speaker for Hindu Samajotsav which will be held today was decided by the Vishwa Hindu Parishad and  is Prashant Hartalkar,”  .

Prashant Hartalkar hails from Nagpur district and is convener of District Vishwa divison, Vishwa Hindu Parishad.
