Mangaluru, Mar 10: Policemen of Kadri police station in the city have succeeded in laying their hands on seven persons who reportedly were stealing things from mobile phone shops, and damaging cars and police shelters. These incidents were reported from Maroli and Kulshekhar areas in the city.

Out of the above seven, five are juvenile delinquents, the police have revealed. Prem D'Souza (19) from Kadri area and Sevin (19) from Madikeri are the only two accused who have attained majority. Computer, laptop, cell phone, and recharge coupons worth Rs 80,000 were recovered from their possession.

The policemen based their investigation on the closed circuit television camera footage relating to an incident in which the windshields of a car parked inside the compound of a house in Kadri Kambala were shattered on March 5. On the basis of this footage, they questioned Prem D'Souza, and got to know about his accomplices involved with this and other crimes.

Reportedly, all the accused are students, and they needed money to buy liquor and generally enjoy their lives. Kadri police are continuing to investigate the matter.
