Mangaluru, Mar 10: Students of city's Rosario College on Tuesday March 10 gathered at Bunder police station and staged a protest alleging that one of the students had been assaulted by the conductor of a government bus.

The students claimed that the first year BCom student, identified as Samad from Uppinangady, was assualted by the conductor of Uppinangady-State Bank KSRTC bus.

They claimed that when two girls were about to board the bus, the conductor gave the signal to the driver to start the bus even before the girls could get inside. When Samad who was in the bus objected to this, the conductor allegedly assaulted him out of anger.

Protesting against the alleged assault, the students decided to mass bunk the exam and gathered at Bunder police station demanding action against the conductor.

The students alleged that the conductor often abuses students who hold bus passes and halts the bus at irregular spots.

Samad got admitted to hospital and later filed a complaint with the Bunder police.

The Bunder police assured that action would be taken against the conductor, after which the students agreed to withdraw the protest. The police then sent the students back to college.

Meanwhile, the accused conductor, identified as Murugesh from Bagalkot, alleged that the students had attacked him with blades and got himself admitted to Wenlock hospital.

A case has been registered in Bunder police station.

Boys be careful and think before fighting for girls. Normally girls will think that boys are doing this to impress them. Very few compliments boys for their help. Most of them just think in a negative manner. Cant really blame them bcoz system itself is like that. If girl try to talk in favour of boys then sometimes girl will be seen in a negative manner.

There is no reason to mass bunk the exam. May be the students have not prepared for the exam so needed a reason for it. With respect to the assault, it should be dealt separately without bunking the exam.

    ‘Pataa Poster, niklah Hero’

Samad, may be you have alerted the conductor in a good faith & spirit but what about the rest? Were they simply watching the situation or they were not concerned? At least other passengers should have taken your side.
Also, remember that abusive way of telling the conductor (nikk Kann thojujambe – are your blind ?) sometimes makes the situation worse than your good intentions. Now claim and counter claim (false charge sheet) will continue.

So Sad to Hear that students who come from rural place to Mangalore city are misbehaving like animals assaulting a govt bus conductor with blade, their aim in life is to be responsible citizen not rowdies, feel pit for poor conductor on duty, why will a govt conductor bother if passengers get pass or pay cash he get paid by goverment if it was a private bus we could have believed this with positive responce but , I feel it might be the students mistake why are they bothered abt girls nor wannna create rukus and disturb other passengers on board???

dear Jeevan, please be noted that every govt employee is required to behave as human being and he has no right to mistreat or mishandle any public. He is a public servant and he has to discharge his duty accordingly, otherwise he has no right to be as Govt employee. This conductor has behaved like an animal and mercilessly attached the student who objected conductors misbehavior. The student did the right thing by objecting on conductors wrong doing. As the conductor in on wrong side there is no need for him to assault the student. It is also a joke that the conductor got himself injured and got admitted in the hospital. This conductor is a joker and luckily did not get suicide. He should be treated for mental disorder and removed from his job immediately.
