Karkala: 25 passengers injured as private bus rolls off road near Hebri

Karkala, Mar 10: Nearly 25 passengers sustained injuries after a private mini bus rolled off the road at Kolagudda Byana near Hebri here on Monday, March 10.

The bus was moving from Shivamogga to Mangaluru.

The injured persons were rushed to local private hospitals in three ambulances as per the instructions of ambulance operator Gururaj Nayak.

It is said that the bus was moving at a high speed and the driver lost control while taking a turn, as a result of which the bus plunged about 20-ft down a slope.

Udupi MLA Pramod Madhwaraj who was passing by the same route stopped at the accident spot and helped in getting the injured people admitted to hospitals.

Hebri police have registered a case against the bus driver.
