Mangaluru: 'I am not aspiring to become CM' - Parameshwara

Mangaluru, Mar 11: Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC) president, Dr G Parameshwara, asserted that he is not an aspirant for the post of the chief minister (CM). He however, hastened to clarify that he would be happy to discharge any responsibility his party leadership might cast upon him.

He was speaking to media persons during his visit to the Ashram of Chandrashekhar Swamiji at Gerukatte near Mulky on Tuesday March 10. He was here to attend the funeral of Kilpady Govinda Bhat (84), a renowned astrologist and father of Chandrashekhar Swamiji, who breathed his last on Monday.

He gave the chief minister, Siddaramaiah, a pat on the back for leading the government efficiently by giving fillip to people-friendly schemes. To a question, he clarified that there is no plan to expand the state ministry in near future.

"As budget session is in progress, cabinet expansion can happen only after the conclusion of this session," he added.

He said that the implementation of a plan to transform Mangaluru beach into a tourist attraction will begin shortly.

    Dr. Parameshwara ...I doubt congress party will be there in the future or not....!!!???? You ruled India past several years and spoiled India much more than Britishers did. Britishers only stole from India and did good also more than that. But in my opinion congress only stole and did nothing compared to Britishers....!!!!???? I can understand that Britishers came to India to loot......but what you Indians Did is worst than Britishers,,,,,!!!!????

    This guy has created so many problems for Siddu and congress party in Karnataka. How does one become a good and efficient CM if he is Dalit. All casts should be treated equally without any reservations.

    Parameshwar, u have played enough behind the scene to bring down Siddaramayya CM of Karnataka. He is not only clean, but also had guts to withstand against all odd.

    Better to keep quiet and work for the party. Now even your position as Karnataka party chief is on cards.

    Instead of supporting your party and party members, for selfish end, u had played dirty and that is what u will reap shortly.

    congress will election in karnataka again and again as poor people in karnataka have realised feku and daaku have taken them for a ride, I have number of people across karnataka and maharashtra. Their observation is congress is better then bjp.

    This reminds us of old Kannada movie "Parameshwara Prema Prasanga"

    It had similar dialogue like Dr. Parameshwar's statement.
    When Dr. Paramu says " I am not aspiring to become CM" it really means he is still interested.
    Good luck Dr. Parameshwar. You have a last chance, because it looks like this Siddu led congress will not come to power in next assembly poll, and they don't deserve to, the way they are going.
