Mangaluru, Mar 11: Fathima Health Foundation in collaboration with Indiana Hospital has launched Mangaluru Dialysis Club (MDC) for the benefit of patients suffering from renal failure. This was revealed at a press meet held here on Wednesday March 11.

Dr Pradeep K J, chairman of MDC said, "Mangaluru Dialysis Club is a new initiative from Fathima Health Foundation for providing comprehensive assistance for patients suffering from kidney failure in Mangaluru. This club will be focusing on creating awareness among the public on kidney diseases, free checkup camps for early detection of kidney diseases, free dialysis in association with Indiana Hospital for financially backward patients and financial assistance for dialysis patients undergoing dialysis in other centers in Mangaluru."

He further said, "Any patient suffering from kidney failure and undergoing dialysis in any center is eligible to become a member of the Club by submitting an application at Fathima Health Foundation office at Indiana Hospital. Each person will get four dialyses free per month that is one dialysis a week. In all, 1,000 dialysis sessions will be free for the whole year, spread across the number of people registered and thereafter subsidised coupons of Rs 300 will be provided for BPL and APL card holders depending on their financial background."

Dr Pradeep K J, chief nephrologist at Indiana Hospital is the chairman of the Club and Mujeeb is the convener.

Fathima Health Foundation is a non-government philanthropy trust set up on September 29, 2006, with a desire and clear vision to help the financially underprivileged people of society.
