Mangaluru, Mar 12: Mangalore Institute of Fashion Technology (MIFT), Attavar, will organize ‘Walk With Confidence’, a fashion walk for blind and special children, on Saturday March 14 at 6 pm in Kadri Park, Mangaluru.
M G Hegde, director, MIFT, organized a press meet to brief about the event on Thursday March 12 at Mift College, Attavar, Mangaluru.
Addressing the media, Hegde said, “Blind and differently abled kids from Roman Catherine Lobo School and Saanidhya are going to take part in the fashion show. This is something that society has never seen before and it is not for commercial gain. These kids should know how it is to perform in society and people should understand their problems too.”
“This is the first time we are organizing something unique; which has not been done by any other college before. Former Mayor Mahabala Maarla will inaugurate this ceremony and B Nagaraj Shetty, former minister and chairman of Mandev Educational and Charitable Trust will preside.” he added
Calistus D’Souza, principal, Roman Catharine Lobo School, Damodar, general manager, Kanva Credit Co-operative Society, Swarna Sunder, Avinash Rai, and other guests will be present on the occasion.
MIFT convener Ramesh K, fashion design lecturers Sampath and Suhas, and detective science lecturer Vivek were also present during the press meet.
