Karkala, Mar 13: A three-member team comprising persons from Hassan district reportedly tried to influence people to agree for religious conversion. The police warned the team and ordered them to move out of Palli village, where they were seen propagating their religion. The incident occurred on Wednesday March 11.

It is gathered that the team had set foot in Palli due to the contact it had with a person from Palli, who was a Hindu earlier, but had embraced another religion after marrying a girl belonging to that religion. The team visited houses of Hindus, handed over different materials to the members of these houses, and tried to influence them to change their religious faiths, it is said.

Some youngsters from Palli, who observed their activities, handed them over to the police. The police reportedly warned the team and advised them against continuing with the activities. However, neither any case was registered, nor any information was provided by the police about the incident.
